摘要: The paper examined the effects of childhood health on adult economic and health outcomes using data from the United States (the PSID) and Britain (the 1958 and 1970 British cohorts).  Equal emphasis is given to physical and mental health issues in childhood.  In both countries, he finds that there are very large impacts of poor childhood health on the ability to work, earn income, the stability of marriage, and adult health.
