【Introduction of Presenter】
Professor Grzegorz W. KOLODKO – intellectual and politician, a key architect of Polish economic reforms. The author of New Pragmatism – original paradigmatic and heterodox theory of economics addressing the contemporary civilizational challenges and economic system transformations. He is the Member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, and Director of TIGER – Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research at Kozminski University in Warsaw (www.tiger.edu.pl). Author of research papers and numerous books published in 26 languages, including international bestseller “Truth, Errors, and Lies: Politics and Economics in a Volatile World” nominated for the William Harrington Award “for an outstanding book that demonstrates how scholarship can be used in the struggle for a better world”. Professor Kolodko has published extensively in the Chinese language, including four books. He is the Honorary Chairman of China Institute of Public Diplomacy and received three honorary degrees from China’s universities in Chengdu, Tianjin and Guizhou. He is Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Renmin University in Beijing and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Emerging Market Institute of the Beijing Normal University. While Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance (1994-97) he led Poland to the OECD. Holding the same positions in 2002-03 he’s played important role in Poland's integration with the European Union. Photographer and globetrotter who’s explored over 160 countries. He is the marathon runner who finished 49 marathons, including Beijing in 2007.
