题目：Dynamics of Optimal Search Intensity
Abstract. We study a sequential-and-simultaneous search problem, where, besides the sequence, a searcher also needs to determine the intensity of search in each period. We show that optimal search intensity is jointly determined by the deadline effect and the fall-back value effect. A searcher will search more intensively when the deadline approaches, while less so when his fall-back value gets higher. When search is with full recall, the sequence of optimal search intensity is a stochastic process that reveals Markov property. When search is with no recall, the optimal search intensity is a deterministic and increasing process, which is mainly driven by the deadline effect. We further consider the applications of these results.
主讲人简介：李志赟，2012年毕业于英国牛津大学，获经济学博士学位，现为英国杜伦大学商学院助理教授。研究领域为应用微观理论，目前的研究关注 Information in Auctions、 Auctions with Participation Costs、 Consumer Search等。论文发表在Journal of Comparative Economics、B.E. Journal of Theoretical Economics (Advances）、Economics Letters等。
