摘要：This paper investigates the well-being impact of the expansion of the New Rural Pension (NRP) program in rural China, exploiting the panel data “China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study” (CHARLS) waves 2011 and 2013. We find that participating in NRP significantly improves rural residents’ subjective well-being, indicated by lower depression and higher life satisfaction. In addition, NRP enrollment affects household expenditure. Families with NRP participants not only increase total expenditure but also shift expenditure towards food, health, communication, and transportation.
报告人简介：Feifei Qiang got her Ph.D. of Development policy in Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management, South Korea. She is currently working as a post-doctor researcher for College of Northeast Asian Studies of Incheon National University (INU). Her research interest includes econometrics, impact evaluation and development economics.
